About the Course
Simulation-based Training for Command Post
Personnel
This course is intended for Sheriffs and other executive level personnel faced
with preparing their agency and community for the eventualities that everyone
wants to believe “couldn’t happen here.” One of the overriding responsibilities
of today’s Sheriff is to ensure that his or her community is fully prepared to
work in a unified way in the face of a serious event with community wide impact.
This means that plans and corresponding technologies have to be put into place,
and they must be understood by all segments of the community both public and
private. Nationally we have required training for CS Levels (700,100 a 200) that
will result in hundreds of people in our communities with certificates on the
wall BUT, does
that translate into competent performance, or will we go back
to “business as usual?”
Integration of plans, technology and multi disciplinary Unified Command training
will be the focus of this session. Considerable time is spent in command post
exercises using a model city simulator. This course is approved by the
Department of Homeland Security Office of Grants and Training (Homeland
Preparedness Tracking #NM-00i -RESP),
